Supporting Damage Control Design Challenges

CHALLENGE:
Our support to NSWC’s Chemical and Biological Defense (CBD) Decontamination program was no exception. While the task arose from a surge requirement that included review of acquisition and design documentation, the McKean team partnered with the customer to tackle additional high priority technical issues.
SOLUTION:
McKean engineers supported the development of a technical study that had the highest visibility in NAVSEA, and required a very rapid turnaround. Our documentation review identified critical life-safety issues that prompted equipment changes, and helped shape future design requirements. Additionally, the resolution of Technical Feedback Reports (TFBRs), critical to meeting Fleet needs, reached its highest volume with our assistance.
SUCCESS:
Ultimately, McKean’s technical expertise ensured that this critical, emergent issue was addressed in a very timely manner to reduce potential for life threatening situations and additional equipment casualties.
