Supporting Strategic Enterprises
Many of McKean’s customers are focused on transforming their own enterprises to meet the arising needs of their constituents, or to increase their own market presence. Elements of the Department of Defense are no exception to this. We support their efforts by creating strategic approaches, assessing performance improvement opportunities, and developing transformation roadmaps.
CHALLENGE:
For NSWC Crane, McKean’s team is responsible for all of these items, including specific process assessments using Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies, but we also support another key component of their strategic transformation.
SOLUTION:
With McKean’s assistance, NSWC Crane now hosts an annual Strategic Business Communication Conference to communicate their mission and focus areas, and share progress against their long-term vision. Government leaders, industrial partners and state & local legislators are all invited, with the attendees numbering well over three hundred. McKean was responsible for conference strategy, speaker coordination, and all the logistics (facilities, multimedia, etc.).
SUCCESS:
Beyond the accolades our team received for their service, McKean was also able to generate productivity improvements on several fronts, including improved fee collection for conferences and a 70% reduction in attendee processing time.
